I can’t express my excitement for Sunday’s premiere of Twin Peaks! First American Gods (one of my favorite books by Neil Gaiman premiered earlier this month), now this! Such an amazing time for television!

Via The Hollywood Reporter;

“David Lynch is making it happen again. The singular filmmaker once again firewalks among the Douglas firs in Showtime’s upcoming Twin Peaks revival, debuting Sunday. The series, co-written by Lynch and Peaks co-creator Mark Frost, comes in the form of an 18-part movie disguised as a television series, with each installment directed by Lynch himself.

Another way the revival is “just a little bit different” than most other high-profile television experiments: we know almost nothing about it, at least on a story level. At Lynch’s request, plot details about the new Twin Peaks are under strictest lock and key, so much so that crewmembers won’t be permitted to speak on the record about the revival until it finishes airing at the end of the summer. “

Stupid Love

“Have you ever been in love?
Horrible isn’t it?
You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you.
Then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life…
You give them a piece of you. They didn’t ask for it.
They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn’t your own anymore.
Love takes hostages.

ℝandom ℝecurring TV Characters I Love, Pt. 4: Disco Stu

Disco Stu is the owner of Stu’s Disco. He’s a disco freak, completely stuck in the disco-era. He is usually seen wearing a rhinestone-encrusted leisure suit, and shows way too much chest. Before becoming a fan of disco, Stu was known as Nautical Stu due to his career as a Sea Captain. He often refers to himself in third-person.

“Disco Stu likes disssco music!”―Stu on himself

“Did you know that disco record sales were up 400% for the year of 1976? If these trends continue….Aaayyy!”

Disco Stu is quite lucky with the ladies! He was once married to Selma Bouvier, he dated Edna Krabappel, Luann Van Houten, and was seen at an Absolut Krusty party with both Lindsey Naegle and Cookie Kwan.

He also tried to kick it to Marge Simpson at a ski lodge.

Disco Stu: Is this seat taken?
Marge: I think that’s an arm rest.
Disco Stu: Sooo, do you party?
Marge: You mean like, uh, hats and noise makers kinda party?
Disco Stu: Sure baby, whatever your trip is. Disco Stu wants you to be comfortable while he does his thang.
Marge: Who’s Disco Stu?

(Bart and Lisa run towards Marge and give her a hug)

Bart & Lisa: Hey mom!
Marge: Hi, pumpkins!
Disco Stu: Kids??! Back awaayy, not today, disco lady!

Time⌚

Time is very slow for those who wait
Very fast for those who are scared

Very long for those who lament
Very short for those who celebrate

But for those who love, time is eternal

William Shakespeare, Sonnet 19

I can’t get Interstellar off my mind. It’s haunting me. Incredible film.

❝American Gods❞

As a fan of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series, I can’t believe it took me this long to read American Gods. I found this off-the-wall, thrilling, thought-provoking, magical book impossible to put down! Doing other things was so hard..when I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it. I just wanted the world to fuck right off so I could enjoy this epic ride. But, at the same time, I didn’t want the ride to end…

Coffee and my book..pure bliss.
Coffee and my book..pure bliss.

A few sparkly gems from American Gods (like 0.000000000000000002 %):

“If you move and act in the material world, then the material world acts on you. Pain hurts, just as greed intoxicates and lust burns.”

“I got to tell you, you don’t look too bright. I got a son, stupid as a man who bought his stupid at a two-for-one sale, and you remind me of him.”

“In a world where people die every day, I think the important thing to remember is that for each moment of sorrow we get when people leave this world there’s a corresponding moment of joy when a new baby comes into this world. That first wail is-well, it’s magic, isn’t it? Perhaps it’s a hard thing to say, but joy and sorrow are like milk and cookies.”

“Tell him that language is a virus and that religion is an operating system and that prayers are just so much fucking spam.”
